Hi, I’m Kate, and I’m Founder & Principal of the Other Side Group, an integrated marketing & communications firm. OSG works with clients on all things content marketing, social writing (blogging, eBooks, white papers, etc) and social business and strategy.
I’m also President of Girls in Tech, a global non-profit for women in technology and entrepreneurship and run the Center for Social Commerce at the SI Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. I also can be found writing at Ad Your Comment Here and Forbes.
In my past, I’ve led university-wide efforts in digital and social media at Syracuse University and have been heavily involved in the start-up space for many years – I was in two start-ups (one technology transfer and one critical infrastructure preparedness; one successful, one not so much) and still love the start-up and small business feel of things.
I have an MA in International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and an MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University. My focus…mmmm…foci were Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Southwest Asia and Islamic Civilization and Security Studies. I also have BAs in Political Science and History from the University of Rochester.
On the side, I’m a very non-professional musician and very non-professional athlete, love a great glass of bubbly or craft brew, being outdoors – hiking, biking, sailing, skiing, whatever – and do a little hops farming with my husband.
Here’s my full CV, and I can be contact for speaking, training or coaching in social media, entrepreneurship and women in leadership.
Have a great day.
